- Many store bought nail oils contain synthetic fragrances, cheap fillers, and alcohol that dries your nails up. By making your own, you will know exactly what and how much is in it. You can customize your own blends of oils and essential oil scents. This will preserve the health of your nails.
- If you struggle with the gross habit of nail biting, like I do, then carrying this oil and taking care of your nails, especially when you have the urge, will distract you from the habit. The more intentional you are about taking care of yourself, the better of a glow up you will have. I am less inclined to bite my nails when I can make them strong and shimmery with my homemade nail oil.
- Fake nails are pretty but the upkeep can be costly and time consuming. Poor maintenance can make your nails brittle and thin and increases the risk infection. By making your own nail oil and taking a few minutes every day or two to upkeep your nails, you can enhance the health of your nails and save money on expensive upkeep. If you get your natural nails done, you can maintain health and shape by using your own nail oil for the upkeep.

My Favorite Recipe
The amount of oil that you will be using depends on the container you use and your desire. This is really up to your preference and creativity. I use these oil pens because they are easy to carry but you can also use these cute, glass oil dropper bottles or these glass nail polish bottles for your nail oil.
These are the oils I use:

You can fill your container up with a blend of these mixtures. The emu oil is not vegan or vegetarian friendly, so skip on that if you prefer; however, it is an incredible contributor to the recipe. I prefer to do one part coconut oil, one part argan oil, a half part vitamin e oil, and a half part emu oil. I recommend about 15 drops of lavender essential oil, 10-12 drops eucalyptus essential oil , 10 drops of grapefruit essential oil or a similar citrus smell, and 5 drops of peppermint essential oil or another minty scent.
Make This Into A Gift Set
This can make a cute little gift set, too. Just make sure you include the ingredients somehow, as some people may be allergic to any one of these. Pair one of your nail oils with these bamboo nail brushes and these glass nail files. Once I started using glass nail files, you will NEVER see me put an emery board to my nails again. You can put them all together in a cute mug, or box, or bag and tie a bow and you have a cute gift for someone you love!
